Floating Membrane/Modular Covers
EnviroCon provides turnkey service for membrane and modular floating covers and the supply and installation of gas collection systems. Both membrane and modular floating covers can also be customized to include hatches, sample ports, and aeration ports.
EnviroCon floating covers are built to suit each application, such as potable water storage, odor control, methane gas capture, heat loss prevention, deter algae growth, chemical containment, evaporation control, airborne contaminants and to prevent dilution utilizing HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and PP (Polypropylene) geomembranes.
EnviroCon membrane floating covers incorporate weight pipes on top of the cover that allow drainage of any storm water collected on the cover. Perforated pipe can be used below the cover to collect any gases generated by the covered liquid. The floating covers can be constructed in either empty or full basins. Full basin construction utilizes a construction barge system which avoids process interruption and saves valuable storage capacity. Time loss due to draining and refilling the basin is also eliminated.
EnviroCon modular floating covers are comprised of a series of individual casings, which are connected together to form a complete, floating cover system. Each individual casing consists of a panel of closed cell insulation encapsulated between two sheets of geomembrane. They can be designed to allow for fluctuating water levels, rainwater drainage and routine access. A floating cover is a economical solution with shorter installation time and lower maintenance.
Floating Membrane covers are most often used in the following applications:
- Earthen and Concrete Basins and Ponds
- Anaerobic Digesters
- Potable Water Reservoirs
- Concrete Vaults
- Concrete and Steel Tanks
Floating Modular covers are most often used in the following applications:
- Bird Control
- Wastewater Treatment /Odor Reduction
- Elimination of UV Infiltration
